OSGKC
The Optometric Society of Greater Kansas City encourages it’s members to get involved in their community. On this page you will find volunteer opportunities and contact information. If you know of any additional volunteer opportunities please contact the society at osgkc@yahoo.com, so that we may include it on this page as well.
The Kansas City Free Eye Clinic
Founded in 2008, The Kansas City Free Eye Clinic provides accessible eye care to the underserved and economically disadvantaged in Kansas City. KCFEC is a nexus between concerned health professionals, organizers, and patients in the community. They provide a broad range of vision services including refractory correction and cataract removal and glaucoma treatments at our referral sites.
KCFEC is an all-volunteer organization under the direction of student officers and other millennials, a unique and award-winning management structure that aims to provide a repertoire of opportunities for leadership and hands-on education.
We need the help of area eye care professionals, opticians, technicians, and other volunteers to increase the number of patients that we can serve. Clinics are typically held Saturdays but can be arranged to match the availability of the volunteer doctor’s schedule.
Please email volunteer@kcfreeeyeclinic.org or call 904.945.0758 to reach Birju Solanki, Executive Director.
